ClinicMind delivers comprehensive healthcare management solutions, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), and practice management software, designed to streamline healthcare practice operations and enhance patient care. As we expand our design team, we are looking for a Head of Design to lead, inspire, and push the boundaries of healthcare technology design.

 

Role Overview:

The Head of Design will take full ownership of the design function at ClinicMind. They will oversee a design team based in India and provide direction, ensuring the delivery of high-quality user interface designs that align with ClinicMind’s brand standards, provide intuitive user experiences, and meet the technical requirements of our engineering teams. This role demands a proactive and innovative leader capable of enhancing design quality within an established framework.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assume full leadership and operational responsibility for the design team, setting strategic directions and standards for design excellence.

  • Craft visually appealing and functional design solutions that align with ClinicMind’s product goals and brand identity, within the existing development framework.

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a remote design team based in India, promoting a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Navigate the challenges of implementing high-quality design standards without the current capability for extensive user research, testing, or metrics tracking.

  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional team leaders, including product management and engineering, to ensure design solutions are efficiently executed.

  • Prioritize and manage design projects to ensure delivery meets deadlines and quality standards.

 

Qualifications:

  • Over 20 years of UX/UI Design experience, with a robust portfolio demonstrating expertise in interface design and strategic design leadership.

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor design teams.

  • Strong understanding of design principles and trends, with the ability to deliver solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, and brand coherence.

  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively articulating design visions and decisions across diverse teams.

  • Resilience and adaptability in navigating organizational constraints and driving design excellence within given parameters.

  • Prior experience in the healthcare technology sector.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related fields.

 

Objective 1: Establish Design Leadership

  • KR1: Formulate and communicate the design team’s vision and mission within the first month.

  • KR2: Implement a weekly design leadership meeting to ensure alignment and foster collaboration.

  • KR3: Develop a "Design Playbook" that outlines design principles, standards, and processes by Q3 (September).

Objective 2: Elevate Design Standards and Team Collaboration

  • KR1: Conduct a comprehensive audit of current design elements across all products to establish a baseline consistency score by the end of Q3 (September).

  • KR2: Introduce a peer review process to improve design quality and collaboration.

  • KR3: Achieve a 95% adherence to brand guidelines in all new design outputs by Q4 (December).

Objective 3: Optimize Team Performance

  • KR1: Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with team members to identify areas for growth, unblocking, and provide mentorship.

  • KR2: Increase team satisfaction by 20% by the end of the year as measured by internal surveys.

  • KR3: Implement a professional development plan for each team member by Q4 (December).

Objective 4: Improve Design-Engineering Collaboration

  • KR1: Establish a bi-weekly cross-functional meeting with the engineering and product teams to ensure alignment on projects.

  • KR2: Reduce the average time from design completion to implementation by 15% by the end of Q125 (March of next year).
